An activator of the hedgehog signaling pathway.

Chemical Name: 2-(1-Naphthoxy)-6-(4-morpholinoanilino)-9-cyclohexylpurine; 9-cyclohexyl-N-[4-(morpholinyl)phenyl]-2-(1-naphthalenyloxy)-9H-purin-6-amine

Biological Activity:
Biological Activity Purmorphamine, a purine derivative, has been shown to activate the Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway which is important for regulating embryonic patterning, stem cell renewal, and tissue regeneration. Additionally, this compound has been noted to display osteogenesis-inducing activity in multipotent mesenchymal progenitor cells. Similar studies have reported Purmorphamine to enhance events related to osteoblast differentiation. Purmorphamine is an activator of Smo.
